Chalkboard Stickers

On Friday I shared somethings I've been loving lately with you and one of them was chalkboard stickers. It was my fiances birthday last week and we had a get together for him on Saturday so I thought I'd make some of these up to put on mason jars for drinks.

All you need is some chalkboard paint and some label stickers

Get a box or some newspaper to put underneath the stickers for when you're spraying. Do this outside but make sure it's not too windy when you do it. Spary on an even amount of paint, let dry and repeat. I found 3 coats worked well.

Once dry remove the stickers and place them on the jars. Putting them on straight can be a challenge or at least it was for me.

Get your guest to write their names or draw pictures on their glasses, way better then
 plastic beer cups.

There you have it! Super easy and super cute!

Friday Favourites

1. Fruity alcoholic drinks! When the weather is nice all I wanna do is sit by the water and drink drinks like this. It reminds of being on an all inclusive vacation ahhhhh.

2. VW Bus is my dream vehicle. I like that they are campers also. I would love to do a road trip in one of these vans.

3. I've been seeing these chalkboard stickers around a lot lately and love them. I am going to attempt to make them for my fiancés 30th birthday party this weekend. I'll let you know how that goes next week :)

4. I was read this post last Friday and it reminded me of something else I had seen. I love this dog/cat diary. I am both a dog and cat owner and I think this is so funny and so true.

5. I have recently found Coconut oil. I use it for almost everything, from lotion to cooking to putting it in my smoothies. Coconut oil has so many health benefits it's crazy.

I know for some of you this weekend is a long weekend, do you have any plans? I'm excited for this weekend because I actually have it off and we are having a get together on Saturday.
Have a great weekend!

Top Four

There are some products when it comes to beauty essentials that I just can't live without. I want to share some of my favourites with you because I love them that much.

I use MAC bronzer (golden) to add the finishing touch to may face. I like it because it gives you a nice  natural bronzed look. If you get this in store they will actually try different ones on your face to help you find the right match for your skin.

I like to mix a little self tanner with my face moisturizer, especially in the winter. Mixing it with the moisturizer claims it down a bit to give you a nice touch of colour without striking or looking orange. I really like this Neo Strata Natural Insta-Tan and I also like that I can get it at the drug store.

L'OREAL Sliver is probably my number one must have. I'm sure you've all heard of purple shampoo for blondes, well this is for grey or 'matcher' hair and it's just a bit darker purple. What the purple shampoo does is it takes that brassy yellowish tone that blonde or grey hair gets over time out. I like my hair almost white so that is why I use the silver, I find it works a little better to get more of that brassiness out.

My hair gets pretty oily after a day or two and I try not to wash it everyday. I use to use baby powder in my hair for the greasiness (which actually work well for blondes) until I discovered dry shampoo. This stuff is amazing! It gets that oiliness out and I find its great for styling and volume.

There you have it, my top four! What are some of your favourite products?

I'm taking part in a giveaway over at Gentri Lee today! There is lots of awesome stuff being given away, so if you have time head over and check it out!

Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries

I've been slightly obsessed with strawberries lately so when I came across this recipe on Pinterest the other day and I had to try it. It didn't requie many ingredients and was pretty sure I had almost everything I needed. I took the recipe and down sized it a little (since I would be the only one eating these I didn't want to make a lot )  I didn't quite have everything I needed but I made it work.

The recipe calls for:
- 1 lb of large strawberries
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 3-4 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1tsp vanilla extract
- graham cracker crumble

I didn't have powered sugar or graham crackers but I used regular sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle on top. I used hardly any sugar (just a pinch) I try to stay away from adding extra sugar whenever possible and you don't really need it in these.

Clean strawberries and cut around the top to hollow out the inside. Prep all strawberries and set aside.

In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy. Put cream cheese mix into a ziploc bag and snip corner. Fill strawberries with cheesecake mix ( I just used a spoon to fill them). Once filled, dip the top in the graham cracker crumble and serve.

I preferred them refrigerated for an hour or so first. Also I used cinnamon instead of graham cracker crumble which I wasn't that fond of. Graham cracker would have been way better.

And voila!!
There you have it! Cheesecake stuffed strawberries.

New Car

For the passed almost 6 months my fiancé and I have been sharing one car. My car kicked the bucket early in the winter and we had decided that sharing a car would work since we needed to be saving our money for more important things (wedding & school) It has worked out pretty well for us so far but when one of my friends told me she was selling her car (for under $1000) how could I turn it down. It's an older car but still in good shape and I am happy to say it is MINE.

As well as the whole sharing a vehicle worked for us it'll be so nice to have my own car again.
This weekend is a long weekend here in Canada, the start to the camping and cottaging season. What are you're plans for the weekend?
Have a happy and safe May 24 weekend!!!

Homemade Dog Treats

I came across this recipe almost a year ago and it is still my ( and my dogs ) favourite dog treat recipe. It's super simple and you probably have everything you need all ready in your cupboards.

What You'll Need:

2 Cups whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 Cup peanut butter ( I like to use all natural so they aren't full of sugar)
1 Cup milk

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375'F. Combine flour and baking powder in one bowl. In another bowl mix peanut butter and milk, then add it to the dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 thick and use any cookie cutter to cut out shapes ( I like to stick to small size cutters) Bake 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet until golden. Cool and store in an airtight container.
*Cookies do burn easily so make sure to keep an eye on them

And voila!
Remember these aren't full of preservatives so they will go bad just like any other baked goods. When I make a batch I like to give some to friends and family with dogs because they do make quite a bit. You could also modify the recipe so they don't go to waste.
Happy Baking!!!

Summer Is Coming

Via

I'm getting so pumped for summer. Today I started working out with a personal trainer and boy did she kick my butt. It's all good though because it'll get better and easier from here. I can't wait to be in back in shape I have been a slacker all winter (maybe longer) and it'll be so nice to be active again. I love the way I feel when I'm in a good routine happy, energetic, confident, motivated, it's just awesome. This year the plan is to get outside more biking, hiking, swimming, and I really want to try paddle boarding it looks like so much fun and so peaceful.

How do you plan on spending your summer? What sort of things do you like to do to stay active?

UPDATE!

I haven't been around here for  a while so I thought I'd start back giving an update on my shop. There are lots of new items in the shop including what I like to call the "summer collection" which are some very bright fabric covered button earrings as well as some pretty funky patterned ones. I also add some new boho style headbands. Head over and check them all out, let me know what you think.
